Who are we?

And how do we get here

The Rönnestig Family

Meet Steve and Mimmi along with our two precious gems, Tuva and Simon. Despite many suggestions, we don't have a hamster, rabbit, dog, or cat in our home, but it have been dogs in the apartment so if we cant say its good for allergics

Oops, nearly forgot about Diego, our last family member guarding our apartment in Spain; please be kind to him.

Mimmi works as a medical secretary but is also a trained masseuse and acupuncturist. She enjoys a pot of tea and a good book in hand most of all.

Steve, originally a chef, now works at a healthcare facility and runs a small private construction company. He finds it challenging to sit still and usually has multiple projects in progress simultaneously.

Tuva's interests lie in books, dance, and theater, while Simon has excelled as a swimmer and a Fortnite player.

Our Story

It all began when we were both 32 years old, and an internet date turned out better than expected, since then we have barely left each other's side.

After getting married, we soon welcomed our first bundle of joy, Tuva. As we were living in a vacation home at the time, Mimmi wished for something larger, and being the good man Steve is, she was gifted a farm in Gotland.

For four years, we lived deep in the forest on a rather large and beautiful farm. We also rented out a wing of our home to summer guests. During our time on the island, our second bundle of joy, Simon, arrived.

However, in 2015, the longing for civilization started to grow, and we relocated back to the mainland when we had the opportunity to take over Mimmi's childhood home, a townhouse in Haninge.

How did we end up with an apartment?

After renovating our townhouse, Steve began looking for new projects around the world. Mimmi, on the other hand, was exploring pension funds. In 2017, we bought our first apartment in Gran Alacant as a compromise. It was a paradise, but after 4 years, we felt the need for more excitement and preferably a sea view.

In 2021, we laid eyes on this apartment and instantly fell in love with the incredible view. Spanish mills grind slowly, but after a year, we finally got the keys, and our first 3 weeks in the apartment proved that we made the right choice.

However, everything is not perfect for a craftsman, so renovation of the kitchen, bathrooms, and laying of a new floor is in order. Of course, we are planning to lay a new floor and paint the terrace while we're at it.

Who is Diego?

During our first stay in Spain, Simon fell ill, but since we had a lot to take care of, he had to stay at home with grandma while we went out to look for furniture.

However, amidst all the furniture stores, we stumbled upon a toy shop, and tucked away on a shelf, he was sitting there watching us. Of course, we couldn't resist his charm, and since then, he has brought joy to us and our guests.

He guards our house when we're not around and keeps our guests company, so please be kind to him :)
